OT- I need your prayers and good thoughts
I found out today that my company is cutting my pay 10% on top of the 5% it's already been cut. Now althought this is better than being unemployed, it leaves me with less than $100 a week for all food, gas and miscellaneous expenses. This is gonna be real hard to do in the DC area. This makes a 20% pay cut from my income last year and I just can't do it.
So, it time to job hunt. Again. Now, being in the DC area becomes an advantage since the government always has contracting jobs around and the government itself is going to be hiring also. But Lord I really am sick of switching jobs so often. I've only been at the present job 5 months. I really like the company and the job is ok. But this pay cut makes staying impossible. My lease isn't up til September so I can't move til then to cut expenses. I've already cut everything I could as much as I can.
I am putting my trust in God that He will lead me where He wants me to be. But every little prayer helps.

I'm sorry you're having this happen to you Barbara. I pray you are being guided to a better opportunity for yourself. I'm feeling more and more called to change my career path and seek out a paid position with a church needing a professional sound person. I love the church where I volunteer now, and they would be sad to see me go. And my boss would be hurt and disappointed. Plus, it's been over 20 years since I've written a resume for myself, and I'm not sure where to start! But I'm seeing some good positions come up online, and it's exciting to think about finding a place where I'm wanted, needed, and compensated for my skills and contributions. I pray you find a place where you are truly valued and supported. I know you will have no trouble valuing and supporting them. That part is, after all, what we are very good at...

Barbara, I'm so sorry. I wish there was something I could do, as you have done so much for me, but yes you will be in my prayers. I can relate to having struggles with money, but lately I have been going back to the Lord's prayer and the part about daily bread (never thought I'd be doing that--lol). I have come to believe that our HP will always make sure we have enough.
OH Barbara, I am sorry for your situation. It's scary out there, although I've heard there are still some good jobs to be had. (I'll take the first one since I'm currently unemployed, but I promise to tell you about the second one ... hee hee)
I've been working harder at networking and at keeping my eyes and ears open to the possibilities around me. All I can say is keep the faith, and realize that your next opportunity may present itself as a strangely wrapped package.
Good luck!

You're in my thoughts and prayers Barbara -- I'm glad that you live in a place that you can possibly find work. Trust in your HP that they know what they are doing. You will get through and perhaps something wonderful will come from this.
I'm thinking about you
