Drunken passenger tries to open cabin door at 32000 feet
Does the below story seem consistent with alcoholism? Do normal social drinkers do this?
BERLIN - Two drunken British women went on a rampage on a charter plane, hitting one flight attendant with a bottle of vodka and trying to open a cabin door as the aircraft was cruising over Austria at 10,000 meters (32,800 feet), police said Saturday.

I think it falls under the "losing control binge drinking" category. Might not be alcoholism yet but it's obvious those women need help. Maybe the penalty will make them realize they are heading out of control. I believe they will be forced to pay the extra costs incurred by the airline for having to effect an emergency landing in Germany and turn the passengers over to the German police.
Honestly, flying the once "friendly skies" is getting to be more and more like riding a Greyhound bus in the sky.
