My ah caught the flu a couple of weeks ago and has not had a drink since. Since I have been practicing detachment for quite a while, I don't talk about his drinking and haven't mentioned anything about him being sober. Now, ah is (was) a very heavy drinker who gets (got) drunk daily. So now he is exercising, drinking vegetable juice, he stopped smoking and has turned back into the man I married (and, no, he is not going to AA, but went during his last attempt at recovery.) We even had a date Saturday night and it was very nice.

My question is, what do I say to him, if anything? I would like to say something positive and encouraging, but I have practiced detachment for so long, that I have no idea what to say. I have no real expectations that he will stay sober, but I am grateful for the last two weeks because life has been so peaceful.

What are your thoughts?
