So many meetings

Hi Everyone!!
Just wanted to talk about recovery.
My husband hasn't had a drink in over 50 days and is doing well (great, actually). But, he seems a little down because he feels he is missing out with the family because of his therapies and AA meetings. He is away from us more than he used to be, but when he's here things are great!
Yeah, of course we still are human. We argue over silly things, but the arguments are not bad now.
I keep telling him that the girls and I are so glad he is here with us.
Last night he found out a friend he made in recovery slipped over the weekend. My husband is bummed! He feels bad for the guy.
It's spring time, the sun is shinning and the flowers are blooming! Things are looking good. I don't want to jinx things but felt like talking about good things too!
I haven't gone to an Alanon meeting in weeks. I felt as though they were actually bringing me down. I have been going to the gym instead and that makes me feel good.
I find that if I need to talk to someone I can come here.
Thanks for listening.
Jeanne

Hi Nodoubt
glad things are going well !! its always great to hear
about recovery !! *****!!
as for alanon, well.. maybe its not for everyone but
for myself, dont know where i'd be without it ! the sharing
of experiences and bringing me closer to my HP have given
me tools that are changing my life in so many ways ! The
behaviors and mechanisms I used to cope with my alcoholic dad and relatives, that i may have needed then but continued until i found this program are being shown to me and now that they have come to light they can be delt with. anyway, my debt to
alanon is eternal.
Finding a new and better way to live what ever that way is for
each is wonderful !

hugs

Jeanne,

Great news! I am so happy that you are all doing well. It's important for your husband to continue to go to the meetings. Even if he is spending less time at home at least the time he is there is good. Better to have small amounts of good time than large amounts of bad time. Thank you for sharing.

I agree with D Mom--he definitely needs to keep going. I'm so glad to hear that things are going well for you! You deserve it!

Hugs,
Lyn
