Okay, so the other day I wrote about my AH's third relapse and whether I should leave him or not. Well, I met with a lawyer yetserday and hired her. AH and I were supposed to meet for dinner last night to talk things out (He doesn't yet know I'm filing for divorce). Well, when I met him at his hotel I arrived to find him drunk and passed out in his room. Honestly, I was almost relieved...it made it much easier to justify my decision to file! Can you believe I was still questioning myself and my decision up until I found him all wasted like that?

I am sure I will continue to have doubts from time to time, but today I feel nothing but relief and a sense of freedom. This does not have to be the way I spend the rest of my life, as a slave to someone else's problem, always hoping for the best but quietly waiting for the worst. I am worth more than that. I deserve better.
