Worked at our local AA office today !
Our local branch (here in lexington) is open from noon to 2pm each sat. (among other days). They passed around a volunteer sheet several weeks ago in my al-anon meeting to just be at the office so it could be open.
I really enjoyed the fellowship with those that came in today, along with the al-anon leader that was there also.
What is it they say? Recovery by Serving?
My Ah made the comment something like"well tell them I would be there to work with you, but I am gonna stay home and have a beer......" He makes me sicker of him everyday.

Pat yourself on the back,it's too often we are hard on ourselves and our feeling of usefulness. Service brings back our self worth. I pray your AH will eventually see your example to a better way of living.
Wow, good for you!
Ugh, so typical. Sounds like something my XAH would say.

I'm so proud of you, lilac! Thank you so much for being of service in recovery.
We have to "give it away to keep it", and being giving of ourselves with service work can be very fulfilling.
