As was said already, hair loss can be caused by different things. So I'm not going to even venture a guess as to what is causing yours. BUT I will send you tons of great healing vibes and wishes for some good test results. Please let us know as soon as you find out what's going on.

TONS OF (((((HUGS))))) your way!

Jill, I will be thinking of you.

I have a secret. My hair has been thinning for years, due to some medical issues..I wear hair pieces alot. Nobody can tell the difference and I feel better when I wear them.

Keep us posted.

Thank you, everyone, for your prayers, kind words, and support. I saw the doctor today. She says I have diffuse alopecia--in laymen's terms, that's overall hair loss. She said, looking at my chart and considering all the medical issues that I've had over the last two months, it's not surprising. She said that my hair should start growing again as soon as I'm feeling better and no longer stressed.

Hopefully, the radioactive iodine will resolve my thyroid and heart issues. I should start seeing the initial results six weeks after the radiation is administered and I should see maximum results in six months.

Thanks again for everything.

Well hard as this at least now you know it's just a temporary thing... Wish we could bring you over some chicken soup and a few chick flicks and just help you de-stress. Take good care of yourself. (hugs)

I have not been able to read all the postings here, but I had a similar experience with hair loss after a tragic and sudden illness of my mother. Went to many doctors and bottom line for me was severe stress.

Glad to hear you are on the mend....just goes to show, we are so affected by stress physically, and alcoholism sure brings alot of stress.

Be sure to practice some extreme self care today and every day.
