What do you do when you miss your addict
Well, I have not dated an addict, but I have had breakups that were bad...when I grieved for a long time. Even when I knew the man was not good news for me.
I worked hard to distract myself, go and meet other people, work on my confidence issues.
There really is no short-cut to relieve the pain. In time, it does fade.
Have you been doing anything to make new friends, gain new experiences?

My son is my addict, however, I missed the boy he used to be. I thought someone had ripped my heart out and threw it in the bin. As Seren suggests, keeping busy does help somewhat. Doing nice things for yourself, spending time with friends, learning new hobbies. It does get easier as time passes.

Both of my sisters are alcoholics and addicts as was my father. I think my mom is a dry drunk. It's so hard to see her fading away and she won't do anything to help herself. I do almost everything for her. I don't mind, but I don't think it's good for her. Believe it or not I miss the way things were a long time ago between us. How did things get so messed up?
Let go and let God. That's all I can do.
