A big crisis, but I'm not drinking!
In early October of 1983, my beloved cat went missing. We had a huge snow storm a few days before Thanksgiving and I feared that he was gone forever. We put an ad in the local paper and on Thanksgiving Day someone called to say they found him! He was lost for over six weeks. Keep the faith. Miracles DO happen!
I could ask at the college about a search party venture. I know they have students who do things for residents of our town. They came two years ago and raked some of my leaves. I can call them and ask if someone could help me look for Jack. The college has a radio station, maybe they could do an announcement.
He was wearing his harness with all his tags when I last saw him. I don't know if he's still wearing it. And even with his tags on, he'd be hard to catch, I think, due to his being so shy and timid. It would be hard to look at his tags if he didn't want to be caught. He is afraid of most everyone but me and my brother.
I have never begged God so intently in my life. I want to find him more than I've ever wanted anything. I am worried sick, he must be hungry and cold and scared.

Least, I feel awful for you. This is a pet owner's worst nightmare.
Would a GoFundMe campaign be a crazy idea? To up the reward for this return or finance bigger measures (like printing posters to post in store windows or wherever)?
I am sure most of us would love to feel we're helping in some small way.
Hugs and don't give up.

least, he could just as easily be safe and warm in someone's home. Don't give up.
Have you thought about a small, $10 ad in the paper or "Little Nickel" or whatever free newspapers you may have in the area? That's what brought my little dog back.
Sunday prayers for you and Jack.

Are there woods nearby? He could get tangled up in branches or bushes if he is wearing his harness. It happened to my sister's dog. He ran off when she was out of town and someone else was taking care of him. She did find him eventually by walking the woods herself and calling for him. She found him cold, wet, and hungry after about 10 days, but still alive.
