Prayers Needed
Twice in a week I am on here asking for support. My father in-law is on his death march, so to speak. He has not held down food or water since Sunday and is getting very cold. He is 87 and has been very ill for awhile now. He is still fighting tooth and nail, he is afraid of going. When I was in the hospital this week a nurse who had taken care of the elderly for many years, said that if they haven't made peace with their maker, it takes longer. He is a great man in ever sense of the word but not a religious one. I think I will pray with him today and let him know that it is ok to go home that the Lord is waiting with open arms. Thanks for letting me think on print, the tears are flowing gotta go!! Love to you all,
Reader sorry to read about your father-in-law,is in such distress.Sometimes although not being religious during their lives, when they come to the end of this life, may feel the need to see a minister/priest,or some kind of men of the cloth,at this time.To talk to,or even to confess, some things.,or just to find some comfort. Can your father-in-law speak?Do you feel that you can ask him,if he wants this,or do you think, asking will upset him? You know best........Just felt that i needed to share this with you.
My prayers are with him and his whole family.
May God,s peace be with him.

Thank you everyone for your kid words! Gabe, I love that picture. He hasn't spoken, ate or drank since saturday. I prayed and held his hand today. He looked so peaceful. I hope he goes home soon. I fear he might be able to feel thrist, if he does his expression doesn't show it. He was born in the house he will die in, what a blessing to be surrounded by those you love instead of a nursing home. I gave him last rights and blessed him with Holy Water. The family was very grateful and I think it helped everyone. Thanks again!
