hello im alex
Hello my name is alex i am 28 year's old i have been drinking for over 10 year's now.. i have tried recovery so many times and failed but our liver and heart are suffering.. and i dont want to do this anymore
Hi Alex and welcome. You have come to the right place. Most of us had to hit that bottom where we realized that many really bad things would happen if we didn't get our *** together, once and for all, and quit drinking. Like possibly drinking ourselves to death. It definitely happened to me.
Not to mention the bad things we already regret having done while drinking.
You really can do this and we all know exactly what you are going through. Make that commitment to stop and you will only find a better life. It takes time and certainly won't happen overnight, but slowly but surely you can find a new peace and way of living that brings the relief you are seeking.

It's so good to meet you, Alex. You're in great company - with people who really understand what you're going through.
I drank 30 years - my life was in ruins when I first found SR. Talking things over made all the difference for me. I knew I wasn't alone anymore.
You'll never regret getting free of it - you won't suffer the devastation many of us have.
Welcome!

Hi Alex,
I've been thinking lately about how long I knew about my problem with alcohol, and finally have acknowledged that I 'knew' at 18 - or even earlier. It took me 4 decades to get to the point you are today, so my hat is off to you on making a very fine decision.
As you know, it's not easy to stop altogether. I dare say it doesn't get any easier with time!
Go for the gold, hold on for the ride, and I promise you will be glad for the rest of your life that you did so.
Welcome to the club!

Hi Alex, we’ve all been there. It seems a total impossibility to quit when alcohol’s been with us every day for years, but it can be done with a bit of willpower.
And quitting at 28, you’ve got it made 🙂

Hi Alex, welcome to SR! The fact that you posted on this site and sharing that you know alcohol is harming you physically, combined with your desire to stop drinking is an AWESOME start! This community is all about support and sharing wisdom and experience of what works in recovery. I hope that you will stick around!
