Heading into Day 11 - feeling VERY determined !
I got the number of days wrong and it turns out it’s Day 11 (not 10 as I thought !). My main emotion is .... determined !! I’m determined not to go back to my life where the slightest pressure, stress or uncomfortable feeling got me reaching for the bottle; I’m determined not to take any more **** from my son ( see previous post); I have a new work contract which is intellectually challenging but instead of panicking saying ‘I don’t think I can do this’, I’m going to rise to it ..I actually don’t recognise this new me !! :-) :-)
Youcandothis, icandothis2013.
Congratulations.
Pleased to hear you're not going to take anymore **** from your son. Getting sober gives us these additional
strengths. I've realised I don't have to take **** from anyone anymore. It's a good feeling.
Keep going. Keep growing. Building.

For me, when I really got out of denial and into acceptance and letting go... that's when the positive vibes of being sober really started sinking in.
Celebrate your sobriety. There's nothing to miss.

I relate to that feeling and it kinda puzzled me for a while in my first month because I became more used to struggling with motivation for many things. Getting sober, for me, brought additional drive to tackle other challenges as well, some of which are very enjoyable, others more stressful, but it all just feels much more alive and "myself" than the addict version Onward!
