Folks in recovery were always there to greet me
with a smile and a welcome just as we here in SR
is doing the same for you.

When you have a moment, share with us a little
bit about yourself and what brought you here.

I'll start by introducing myself. I'm Sharon and
I'm an alcoholic. I entered recovery some 30
yrs ago beginning in a 28 day rehab facility.

It was there that folks taught me about my addiction
to alcohol and its affects on me and those around me.
They then gave me the gift of a recovery program as
a guideline to live my life by each day I remain sober.

I took those valuable lessons when i left and never
picked up a drink again. There were ups and downs
all along my journey travels in life and recovery but
nothing bad enough to what my misery returned to me
when i was living in my addiction.

With recovery lifelines in place to turn to and hold
onto you too can achieve many of lifes rewarding
gift to enjoy each day you remain sober.

Again, welcome..!!!!

Hi Mickey! I was nervous too - and now I'm on here every day, being comfortable talking things over.
We all understand how you're feeling. The encouragement here is wonderful - you're one of us, & we care.
Hope you'll keep reading & posting.

Hi Mickey, welcome to SoberRecovery

Like yourself I was nervous when I first posted here. It had taken me about 3 years of occasionally visiting and reading threads at SR before I could summon up the courage to register. Then there was the nervousness of making my first post and wondering what, if any, the response would be. The response was overwhelmingly positive and helpful and I'm glad I made that first post.

Stick around at SR, read and post daily, and you'll find a great deal of encouragement and support here. I'm grateful for all the help I've received from the community here at SR and you can find that same help and support.

Hi Mickey,

Welcome. We're family here, so no need to be nervous. That said, starting out in recovery is a pretty scary time and we do understand that.
