I think it's time to say hello
I joined this site about a month ago, the last time I was so sick I could not get anything done, the last time I noticed how out of control everything was, the last time I thought "this is it, I am done". I didn't post because of that nagging feeling, I think you guys call the AV, that I might need to drink just once more, or twice, and I didn't want to be embarrassed over another failure to anyone other than myself and my husband. Two nights sober, enough to fully recover and feel better, and I was back into it, of course starting with "just a small glass" and devolving from there.
I have known for at least a couple of years that I have a problem. I have watched my health and savings and parenting and personal relationships all decline to this stupid habit which honestly does not even feel good anymore and I'm so sick of it.
I'm glad to be here. It's nice to "meet" you all. I hope I can be a positive support to others and, of course, hope to get lots of support, advice, and encouragement for myself. <3

Hi 2M2L,
The very fact that you have now become proactive against your addiction and are here puts you well on your way to a recovery. How long it takes, is up to you. There’s gobs of help here. Welcome.

I prefer to call it the AS. The Alcoholic Scream.
Don't lose everything like I did. You can turn it around and not have to go that far down the rabbit hole... or maybe you might.
Alcoholism is a crazy thing. Some people can keep it together for a hell of a long time... others can go down to the depths of hell in a heartbeat.
