Checking for no other reason but to check in.:)

Life is stilling going good. I had the AV try to sneak in the other day when it was nice out but shut it down with water and my got to Oreos.
Went to the doctor for blood work about joint pain and explained I'm an Alcoholic and if they didn't test for live stuff, please do so.
All came back well. They say my joint pain is because of age and wear and tear. I'm not comfortable with that because it's not like I've done a lot of physical labor as a profession. Read that as I'm not in the trades doing that type of physical work.
I've always been active but hard for me to accept the age/wear and tear and I've never been over weight.
I'll be curious when I can get into the dentist and address gum disease and monitor my joint pain after that.

Time to shop for new teeny runners [shoes]. My tattle tail Fit-bit tells me it's time for a new pair.
In the last 9+ months I've logged, 2.8 Mil steps and 1.3k miles of just regular daily activity.

That's all for my rambling now. Stay safe kids and one day at a time.

Yes, the 'wear and tear' diagnosis is hard to hear, hey?

I found yoga to be really good. It's gentle, and get joints moving smoothly. Strength too.

Glad you're doing well C0ntr0ls.

So much better.

My av knows every trick in the book.

So does my analytical mind and that wins every time.

I keep seeing this statement from folks trying to help me....what is my plan.

Is it folks trying to lead me to AA or SMART? I guess not drinking for a long time without a plan leads to relapse.

I need to work on my mental game?

It seems that there is more to not drinking than not drinking, but I haven't cracked the code.

Thanks.

Hi D122y

If anyone reads the links I post when I suggest getting a plan, the idea is for people to devise and structure their own plan based on their circumstances and what they need.

The aim is to find the way or ways they think they can best stay sober.

Some people may in fact decide that AA or SMART, or Rational Recovery, or LifeRing etc etc is the best option for them, but thats not the point of the plan building exercise as I see it.

Wow, those are some pretty impressive exercise numbers. Not sure of your age, but yes, the old bones start creeking when we get older. FOr me the first signs hit at about mid 40's. Although I was very rough on my body when younger.

I knew a woman that had the aches and pains....eventually quite sick...it was traced to mercury in her old fillings....you mentioned the dentist.

Thanks All.
I'm 53 and don't remember [When drinking] the joints other then made my feet hurting a bit but not all of them.
I've thought about milk [I drink it now with dinner] but I won't think too much about the pain until after the dentist.

At age 64 I have found yoga and walking to be of great help for both mind and body.
