Day 4 in recovery
Now into Day 4 all alcohol should be out of my system as I have past 72 hours.
Watched a documentary on recovery yesterday where a woman who has not had a drink since 1981 told how she at first could not bear the thought of permanent sobriety. She reprogrammed her mind to just think about today and staying sober for 24 hours and said she would drink the next day, when next day came she commited to another 24 hours and so on.
The strategy of focusing on today an getting through 24 hours without a drink is one I now use.
I am feeling better. I have a huge bank of negative experiences with alcohol to call on when a craving hits.
Hope everyone is well today and I pray for you all.
