Day 3
Hi Mummy,
Glad you’re on day three and feeling a little better. Have you thought about a recovery plan to support you on this journey? There are lots of resources on here. Some of the things that helped me are:
-Reading and posting on SR daily, in the beginning I was probably on here 20 times throughout the day.
- Reading books about recovery, I learned something from each person’s journey. There is a link on the stickies on this site listing great titles, you should check these out. You may be able to check them out of the library right onto your Kindle or iPad, that’s what I’ve done with many books lately.
-Try to get outdoors for a walk everyday. The combination of nature and exercise is helpful.
-Mindfulness. I worked really hard (and still do) to remain focused on the present moment. Stressing about the past and worrying about what “might,” happen only ruins your present. There are some great apps and you tube videos about mindfulness. Even just slowing down and taking the time to breathe helps.
-The number one thing is you need to take drinking off the table no matter what. If you still have alcohol in your house, get rid of it.
You can do this Mummy, and I promise sobriety is worth it.
❤️Delilah

And you can keep feeling better, if you put a plan in place and follow it. Remember this disease tells us that we can drink again. I still have triggers even though I know a drink would only lead to devestation. For myself, meetings, keeping in touch with my sponser, and working a program has kept me sober. Without this plan I have no doubt I would have drank again.
This. You will inevitably feel better at some point and the idea of drinking will enter your mind. That's why it's a cycle. Drink. Despair. Feel better. Drink.
If going to the gym and your husband's support didn't help with previous attempts, they won't work this time. Something new needs to be introduced.
I recall you cancelling an appointment with a doctor last time because you weren't ready to tell someone about your problem which would have acknowledged the issue. May be time to re-book?
Thanks everyone I have been to the doctor, but yes I do need to add things to my recovery as other stuff I’ve tried has failed, start reading other people’s recovery is definitely a good thing for me
