bored with life
This week is a weird week for me, I was feeling high energy all last week, and this week I'm feeling extremely low energy. Getting great sleep at night yet tired mid day, motivation is a little less this too. Did all of you go through this period as well? Not sure why this is occurring. I'm normally very positive, just not feeling it today. Not saying I want a drink either, no worries on that. Just a little confused lol
This,too, shall pass.
It could be a number of things so just hang in there. Don't over think it. Don't get stressed about it. You just might need a change of scenery! Go for a walk, decorate for the holidays, try on new outfits (even if they are from your closet), put on a different radio station, find a new restaurant or recipe to make..be creative and have some fun! It will do wonders!

I've been sober ten and a half years and I go through what you describe.
I have days where I feel like a world beater and then days like today where I'm restless and want to do something but don't know what. I feel lost.
I believe everyone goes through cyclical periods like this. It's a symptom of the universe. Part of the human condition.
You're not alone in your feelings.

In AA, "restless, irritable, and discontent" is used to describe the various "moods" or conditions or states of mind or....we find in sobriety.
Keep going.
Tweetie, I know it's frustrating when you don't feel your best and you're not sure why, but, I suspect it won't last. I also suspect that it might happen again. Things can be up and down in recovery and in life.
Early recovery is not a straight line, unfortunately. You'll feel good, then not so good and then good again.
I think we underestimate the effect our drinking has on body and mind. It takes a little time for things to repaair themselves.
Its completely normal Tweetie - and it's not a sign you're doing anything wrong.
I had to work at keeping engaged with things - sitting on a couch was ok as a drinker but it leaves lot to be desired sober,
Everything will be ok in the end - I promise

It took me several months sober before I felt at all 'normal'. I had ups and downs, sometimes in the same day. But the longer I was sober, the better I felt. Hang in there. It does get better.
If you want to shore up your sobriety, I suggest practicing gratitude every day.

How many days sober are you? In the first couple of months, for me, I had so much free time that used to be spent on drinking I didn't know what to do with myself. It was like all of the sudden I had give/take 6 more(minimum) hours to fill.. I slept a lot.. I went to court ordered AA more times than required (speaker meetings can be interesting) and I started doing old hobbies. Life can be so much more fulfilling without being handicapped by a drink/drug that's never even needed.
