Naked and afraid

Oh my god you guys, I think he’s going to walk out the door naked to go to the liquor store! He just put his shoes on...that’s it. Says he’s gonna start walking

Let him go. Someone will call the police, I’m sure.

i was thinking lock the doors and if he comes back and gets all irate, call the cops about the crazy man outside.

he's gonna do what he's gonna do - drinking is his occupation now. addicts will go to great lengths for another hit, shot, pill, snort. sometimes the best thing for us is to leave. for a long time, i kept a backpack ready to go, so when things got too much, i could vacate.

you may need to consider short term housing. i understand needing to be the one to leave the premises is unfair, but we have our safety and sanity to protect. if he is off to get MORE alcohol and he is already drunk out of his head, it is not going to get better tonite. or tomorrow. or the day after.

I absolutely love you guys. I understand, and currently he is badgering me to drive him to the liquor store. I have plans to ask to stay some places and will house the dog. All I need is 3 1/2 weeks until the default divorce goes thru. Then I can get a restraining order if he shows no signs of leaving according to divorce papers. If he breaks the order I’ll call the police. Just a matter of time. I’m completely detached from him, I feel it. I just see a pathetic drunk now, my beautiful husband is gone.

I am living in this feeling currently. It is such a very sad place to be. I feel sorry for this human who looks a bit like the man I love (still deep in my heart I love him and wish he could get well). Be kind to yourself. Like stated above, pack a "just in case bag" and have a safety plan.

he started walking, it’s over 100 degrees outside, he came back cuz it’s too hot. Now he wants me to drive him. I’m not doing it.

I feel the same. I see a bit of him, but I will not allow myself to be conned by alcohol. It’s cunning for sure.
