Recovery music 2019
What's healing on your playlist today?
6 Ways Music Can Heal You - "Whatever the reason you listen to music, I hope it makes your heart sing."

Today mine is a mix of -- surprisingly -- Goo Goo Dolls, Demi Lovato, Rod Stewart, Andy Grammer, P!nk and eclectic artists I'm starting to learn names of and new songs.
I'm looking at some of the lyrics in new ways. Breaking things down. Looking up word meanings.
Currently playing: Gavin McGraw - acoustic version of 'She Sets The City On Fire'. Firing up my creativity, imagination and hope.

Oops!! I think I totally misread that post, dandylion.
As in: that is your most empowering song for women rather than it's what you're listening to today. As I 'risk being human', it gets easier to laugh at myself and approach life with a lighter heart.
Thank you for being here, sharing and all the support you give. I greatly appreciate it.

O.K., Mango......how about this song....I DID listen to it, today....why?....because it reminds me of the value of friends......good friends are one of my most value possessions. Where would I be without trusted friends, along the way.....?
Plus, it has a funky, soulful sound...I gotta have soul....

I haven't been here for a while and nice to see familiar friends here. I love music posts so I thought I would share what song I listened to today. Music has a very calming affect on me . https://youtu.be/BdsdgL4_wuY
Here is one to go with the friend's theme. I agree with dandy..where would we be without our friends? https://youtu.be/HaZpZQG2z10

It's been difficult for me to listen to music. But I'm getting back to feeling OK about it without breaking down. A few songs literally keep me alive & moving forward.
One song in particular saved me. Although quite heartbreaking, is so deeply moving: "Midnight Train" by Sam Smith
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5mG0zNcjbs
I feel it's an anthem for walking away from a dysfunctional or toxic person who you still love.
I have "recovery" playlists that range from happy to sad. So many songs still trigger me so I've been (slowly) trying to listen to them in new settings to re-program my memories/associations of them. Just like everything in my life that reminds me of her.

Great tracks everyone, I'm adding them to my new feel good playlist.
Here are some of mine:

Two acts that I saw at Coachella that really stayed with me (although Billie Eilish didn't perform this, which kinda surprised me as Khalid was also doing a set). Rufus du Sol did do Underwater, and also it was used in the 3D VR movie dome The Antarctic to great effect.
Ah Rufus Du Sol, love it!
