I always slip on Fridays. I want to go home and sleep thru it.
I feel like I have this whole day ahead and night that I need to fill. And I'm so used to starting drinking by now and continuing drinking until I pass out. I can't do that anymore. I don't want to do that anymore. I kind of feel like I don't know what to do though right now.

Play the tape all the way through Press and find something, anything, to do that isn't drinking. Even if that thing is staying on here all night until you're too tired to read anymore.
Like you said, you can't do that anymore, it isn't an option so don't dwell on it. There are plenty of things you can't do right now so focus on the things you can do.

How about going to store to stock up on yummy snacks and get 3-4 movies you would enjoy! Maybe watch the entire Godfather series, that would carry you through the entire day and evening......
I always binged watched movies in the early days of recovery

don't drink no matter what. first and foremost!!!
plan a nice dinner or a fun dinner with the child(ren?) - homemade pizzas or burger sliders or something.
take everybody out to a movie.
haul out the board games.
if you happen to have the night to yourself, grab your favorite take out, fire up something on netflix or OnDemand - binge watch Thrones or Fixer Upper or the Godfather movie series. clean out a closet. start decluttering and putting order to your home.
go to bed early.

Sorry, I wasn't going to post because I was just going to second what everyone else says (though I can also recommend Trollhunters on Netflix as a fun series to binge on if you like animation), but your last post cracked me up. Hey, at least you have your sense of humor, Pressmetilihurt!
I would always drink in fridays too Press - til I stopped doing that.
You're not a passive player here Press - you can affect the outcome. Instead of wishing the day away, why not get proactive?
some good suggestions above

I ate when I craved. Quitting drinking is not the time to go on a diet.
Since I was eating a lot I had extra calories so I hit the gym. I turned those calories into muscles and stamina.
I made gym goals.
I craved last night at 522 PM. I was driving home from work, Friday night. Big trigger.
I got home and instead of drinking I made some amazing salami sandwiches. Little ones. It was pure deliciousness.
Then I finished up some homework and could barely keep my eyes open past 8 pm.
Woke up at 130 am. And here I am. Yay.
Almost ready for glorious sleep round 2.
Thanks.

Yay for Pie! Good job, Press! I was going to agree with wildflower about a good series to watch. There are so many great ones out there. I remember Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones binging in the early days. I would binge on these series and extra buttery popcorn mixed with Reece’s pieces
