Looking for Advice

I'm new to recovery & since I've gotten sober, although I feel I get plenty of fluids, I notice my urine smells very unpleasant. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do about it? Most of all, is it something I should seek medical attention for?

Unless the last thing you ate was asparagus then yes, I'd ask a doctor

Hi yourwillnotmine

You don't say how long you've been sober for. We can;t give medical advice here - but even if we could there's simply too many possible variables factors and reasons for us to answer you on an internet forum.

Go see a Dr and set your mind to rest

D

What may also help answer your question you
can go to Google and type in unpleasant urine
odor. I often use Google to find answers to many
questions I need answering.

Be careful going to Dr. Google!! I have done that waaayyy too many times and convinced I’m on my death bed. Causes too much anxiety for me!! I would say to keep pushing fluids and eat well and see if it improves. If not, you could see a Doc, night be a UTI and may need an ATB. But also, could just be your body flushing out toxins still. I would say that unless the coloring is way off, like cola colored, it’s nothing to be too concerned with. If your urine is dark yellow, you probably need more fluids. Keep in mind that alcohol is essentially a diuretic and dehydrates you so it may take awhile until all your tissues and muscles are rehydrates again. Stay sober, things will only improve from here!!

I will say that happened to me but again could be coincidental and if you are concerned go see a dr for a simple urine test. I always say better to use a dr and modern medicine too much than too little if you are worried. Now of course my insurance company would beg to differ but I pay into the best insurance plan my co.pany has to offer so I dont concern myself much with their opinions.
