An observation
I went out a few weeks back with my hubby and the drinking friends. One friend is also my smoking buddy. I recently quit smoking - haven’t seen them so he wasn’t aware. During the night, he asked me to join him for a cigarette and I told him I quit.
Cue up the huge hug, congratulations, and a sincere “I totally respect that”
All this from the same person who still asks when I will start drinking again, gives me a hard time for being sober, and can’t stop focusing on a negative way on my sobriety.
Such a thought provoking interaction for me. Made me reflect back on This Naked Mind where addiction to smoking and drinking are viewed as two distinct entities.
