Bad day 1
Bad day 1
Today was terrible despite having valium. I paced the house for 3 hours. Nausea, horrific stomach pains. I kept telling myself this will be over in a few days. Even did guided meditation. Just venting. Thanks for listening.
You not alone folks.
Alcohol, drugs or any kind of controlled substances
will not make life or whatever situation you are in
better. Only worse.
In order to be successful in beating your
addiction, is complete abstinence. Period.
It is then that the healing can begin. This poison,
toxin that is flowing from your head to toes
is affecting you mentally, emotionally, physically.
It distorting your mind, your thoughts, your
vision. Once it is out of you and the fog clears
then you will be able to face life that is ahead
of you.
One step at a time. Alcohol, drugs, high powered
addictive controlling prescription meds out first.
If it means to place yourself in a rehab,
hospital, counciling, whatever you need
to help you achieve sobriety, health and
happiness, then just do it.
No one has to do this alone or by themselves.
Folks here graciously caringly share their
own experiences with us guiding all of us
thru many situation to help us achieve what
we cant do alone.
Read and follow with willingness, openmindedness
and honesty moving forward to help yourselves or
grab someone close by and ask for help.

The good thing about giving up alcohol is you don't have to worry that the worst is yet to come. The worst is actually at the beginning, which is probably why people tend to resort to drinking again in the first couple of days. The first hurdle seems huge, but the following ones are no where near as bad.
Wishing you the best!

Thanks Anna and everyone who has replied. It's midnight here and I am still really wound up. Too tired to do anything constructive. Your posts have made me feel so much better that I am not alone.
Sweeti - We are right there with you, & know what you're going through. This miserable time will end! You will come out into the sunshine once again.
Prayers going up for a big improvement soon.

Hey, just want to say, I understand completely as we all do how awful day 1 is. The reason I ende dup with a drinking problem is because I couldn't handle day 1s, I just can't handle it, so I'd drink again.
We all know, as you do, the only way to get free and happy is to break that cycle. Each day you do not drink, you will improve by 1000%.

Thanks Prim and everyone. It was a bad day yesterday and I get what you are saying Prim. Today I feel much better but it's not my normal drinking time yet. I did an online meeting already. Concentrating on cleaning up but will make sure I don't overdo it..
