Day 3
Day 3
Day 3 of sobriety, 2 AA meetings down and I got the Big Book and Living Sober. Still feeling shaky, bags under my eyes. Cried yesterday when I had to throw out all the alcohol in my house. Got rid of my wine glasses too because why tempt myself? Feeling so terrified that I'm going to **** up today.
Congratulations on three days. I know all to well how hard that can be. I've been through it many, many times. I finally asked for help and called AA.
I hope you go to a meeting, they were a life saver for me.
Good job of getting rid of all the drinking stuff.
You'll make it through today. Just think of the remorse, anxiety and feelings of disappointment you'll have if you drink and remember, you never have to drink again.
Best to you.

Feeling scared is normal. It doesn't mean you are going to fail.
The bigger danger lies ahead. When the fear subsides. When we begin to doubt our decision to quit, when we think we don't have a problem with alcohol, when we start thinking "This time I'll control it," when we can't accept never drinking again. That's when failure become imminent.

I was scared like that for quite a while, but I used it to motivate me to do what I needed to do to make sure I'd never go back to that hell.
You will feel better as time goes on and what Carl said is true, so it helped me to keep the memory of what it was like.
Staying on the path you're on now will help a lot so eventually you won't need fear to keep you sober.
