15 Hours Clean
Posting two threads in one day god I'm a mess. I just don't have anyone to talk to and I feel so guilty and alone. I just want someone to talk to me or help distract me. I'm only 14/15 hours clean and it feels like a lifetime. I can't stop shaking and I'm only able to think about getting alcohol. I'm so alone

If things get really bad, you should consider going to an ER. Withdrawals are nothing to mess with!!
Otherwise, I would suggest staying home, go nowhere. Your probably dehydrated. Drinks lots of water and eat something if you can. Take a shower if you are up to it. Stay here and keep posting. Read others' posts. Maybe go on youtube and check out AA speakers. Hearing their stories might help you stay strong. Things will get better if you can tough out the hard times. John

Take care of you and do anything you can to keep your mind occupied. Please seek medical help if you had been drinking continuously and just stopped - detox can be life threatening.
The good news is that each day you don't drink, the better you will feel and less you will think about alcohol. It really does get easier as long as you don't drink.

When I quit smoking I needed some pretty absorbing distractions. I downloaded a few phone games and found that Tetris worked the best for me to get through the intense parts of intense cravings. i haven't had terrible craves quitting alcohol so more mellow approaches have worked so far.
Jess, post as much as you need to. SR was a lifeline for me in the early days of quitting. I don't know if I would've made it without the encouragement I found here. You're doing a wonderful thing for yourself - and this anxiety you're feeling will settle down.
Post as much as you need to Jess. We've all been where you are and have gone through what you're experiencing now. Hang in there. Pass the time in any way you can - take a shower, play a game, watch TV, even pace the floor. Soon you'll have 24 hours and will be on Day 2. You're not alone.
