The Joys of Sobriety

These are some of the reasons why sobriety is better than intoxication, at least for me:
No blackouts
No memory loss
No broken bones or other injuries from drunken falls
No unexplained bruises
No shaking
No clock-watching
I'd say no more hangovers, but it was just an ugh feeling until I could drink again.
$300 / mo to spend on something better
No more declined invitations since I don't drink and drive
More energy and motivation
Better focus and clarity
More productive and accurate at work
No morning grogginess or dread to get up
No more puffy-face
Better mood
More restful and quality sleep (takes a week or so)
Ability to finally lose the weight I gained from it
No more asking son to pick up more booze because I'm too drunk to drive.
No self-conflict or inner arguments about how much to "moderate".
Respect of my 20 something boys
Respect of MYSELF

Reasons to drink: Ummmm, reverse all of the above.

No more tiresome and exhausting negotiation with alcohol.

Great thread CaliButterfly...thanks 💜

For me it's...

•No more hangovers
•Minimal anxiety
•Feeling calmer and more centered
•Driving anytime...day or night
•No internal conflict "shall I drink tonight...no I shouldn't drink tonight"

...the above are just a few from a long list 😊

Haha, thanks man. I posted in the Jan. class about seeing a kick a$$ Stones cover band tonight.

Now back to the joys of sobriety...it was a joy not to think about drinking and to drive home sober.
