Day #1

Hello All. I'm new to this thing. Long story short I'm an alcoholic. My Dad has been sober for 15 months. I'm on Day #1, but committed to being sober. I owe it to my wife and kids. Any support or wise words would be appreciated.

Thanks. It's been 15 hours since my last drink. My mind is racing and I feel super depressed, but I am fully prepared to make it through this tough time!

My anxiety is absolutely through the roof. However I am finding being on here is helping. I am so sick of these feelings. We will do this!!

Hi 1155, and welcome. My father was an alcoholic as well. Fortunately, he was also able to get sober. Unfortunately, I spent the last 30 years denying that I had a drinking problem (after promising myself that I would never follow in his footsteps). It has only been a couple of months since my last drink. We can do this.
