Giving it another go
So I'm back after several months of heavy binge drinking...I had 31 days sober back in July/August. I was feeling so good and proud of myself but then I somehow convinced myself I was overreacting and that I'm not really an alcoholic. I'm ashamed and guilty for drinking again. Hungover and defeated today but hopeful that this can be my new day 1.

Hi Dee, Last time I tried AA but I really hated it. I'm committed to staying sober so I could possibly try a different meeting or meeting type. I think returning to therapy might also be helpful. Probably the toughest thing will be for me to truly accept that I can't ever have another drink again.

Great threads on AVRT/RR here on SR in the Secular Connections forum.
Wish you well and hope to see you around
Unless I do something about the underlying issues I'm not sure I can stay sober.
Bingo!
There is more to getting and staying sober, then just avoiding booze by "white knuckling" it.
Working the steps of AA may help you.
