Block Alcohol ads from Facebook/Instagram
Hey guys,
Just a heads up, Facebook is testing a section to block certain ad topics. Some of you may not have this option -- I don't know if this feature has been totally rolled out to everyone -- but for those of you that do, taking away the reminder in a place you're sometimes scrolling when you're lonely/bored can make a difference!
If you visit https://www.facebook.com/ads/preferences/edit/, you may be able to scroll down to the tab second from the bottom and hide alcohol related ads from your feeds in Facebook and Instagram.
It's pretty simple, and I think it's a step in the right direction for Facebook

Thanks for the tip!
Now I need to figure out how to block the posts from friends who share pictures holding up glasses of wine. I've gotten so I absolutely hate the "It's Wine Time!", "Mommy's Time-Out Juice" memes, napkins, GIFs and the other clueless and insidiously harmful wine-o-holic "PR" that glamorizes and normalizes drinking.
My first week of stopping, at the end of May, I kept seeing posts about "National Drink Wine Day". Same week, another friend shared a picture of a new kind of green wine that is made from grapes and cannabis. Just great.
Maybe I do need to take a break from social media...
