Nutofen+ and marijuana addiction
Hi guys I am a 33 year old mother of 2 beUtiful children and I have an amazing fiancé but for the last five years Ive been addicted to nurofen plus and marijuana. from a young age I had dabbled in everything you can think of, my favourite drug of choice was alcohol for many years. Never an alcoholic but a social binge drinker to say the least! Any high I could Get my mitts on I'd happily oblige... although I managed to never completely cross the line into a non functioning addict of any particular thing I would dabble to meet the required need for any given situation. Five years ago I had a break down in which time I had a profound spiritual experience.I could see now I had been living with a mask on. Using anything I could get my hands on to cope with the emotions I wouldn't allow myself to feel. My new perspective changed my desires and my views on my lifestyle so much and to this day I still don't drink or touch any kind of the drugs I used to and my life and my actions changed to the point of non recognition for the better. but! during this time of new found freedom I was diagnosed with bpd and when I hit a bad patch I started taking nurofen and smoking to feel less anxious I am stil bound by the reliance of this thing that wraps me in a kind of comfort blanket. Where I can function and act like a completely normal person on the outside. Everyone's so busy they haven't really noticed I'm a hermit who is secretly pill popping. The battle in my head is ongoing. I hate that I'm relying on these 6 little pills a day and the marijuana. At first it was ok and I was functioning but now I don't go out I have left my church I have no friends because I don't want to socialise. My days just go on the same each day passing me by when I have so much I want to do with my life! My stomach is also so painful to the touch. So three days ago I decided to go cold turkey and today I am feeling extremely weak and sick. Wondering if anyone knows the drill? Sorry I've wrote so much just wanted to get the picture across as I've got no motivation to step outside the door and seek help! Thank you guys ✍️ Much love
Welcome to SR shewillrise, you'll find a lot of support and understanding here. I am not familiar with Nutofen, but we are all familiar with withdrawals in general and understand how hard it can be. If you are having physical discomfort that concerns you, seeing a doctor is your best choice. Withdrawals can potentially be dangerous so it's always a good idea to get things checked out.
Regarding recovery, there are many ways to go about it once withdrawals are done - and you can learn about lots of them here. We even have a separate forum for Marijuana addiction if you'd like to check that out, but all are always welcome here in the Newcomers area.

My apologies it was meant to read "nurofen".... thanks for the advice. I have believe it or not, told my doctor but was sent away with new anti depressants. It was never brought up again! Either way You can lead a horse to water and all that.
It has to be all or nothing, being luke warm is a recipe for disaster in my experience. Thanks again .

Nurofen plus has codeine, and codeine is an opiate so you can expect to feel a little weak and fluey for a little while?
I didn't get too many physical effects from quitting pot, but it made me a little irritable and a little low for a week or so.
You should be able to get through both things tho - and support helps
There's a ton of support here
welcome aboard
