Dreams/nightmares
I have a week today alcohol free. Havent had this long in a few years. I forgot how horrible those drinking dreams are. I had a few last night. Gave me anxiety and I woke up feeling like I slipped and had some drinks. Thankful to be sober today. Our powers out do to a storm here in Oregon. Normally I would always drink when the powers out cause I was bored and could not get anything done (I work from home). Now I am just reading on here trying to relax and listen to the wind. Take care everyone.

I was just going to post a similar thread on dreams. Since I've been sober (around 4mo) I've not had any dreams of booze...until last night. In my dream I was looking through my liquor cabinet(never owned one) deciding which flask(never owned one) to fill with bourbon( never drank bourbon) for the golf course today.(I'm not golfing today).Crazy dreams!

I remember getting them. So real and vivid but really out there like the dream version of a Salvador Dali painting. I may be weird but I thought they were the coolest part (only cool part) of withdrawal. But I am a lucid dreamer so no horrible nightmares. Either way they beat laying in bed staring at the ceiling until the alarm goes off.
I haven't had a drinking dream in awhile, but I had them often early in my sobriety. As I progressed, I came to appreciate those dreams because, every time, I would wake up and immediately be thankful that it was just a dream. The dreams confirmed for me my commitment to sobriety.
Congratulations on a week of sobriety! That is a great accomplishment. Enjoy the peace and quiet today.
