OT: There's a lesson there
My dad was installing a new ceiling fan.
"Can you grab the flashlight? He asked my mom. "It's on the end table."
"I think it's actually on the dining room table," my mom said.
"No, it's on the end table."
My mom looked at the end table, and it wasn't there. So she looked all around the end table, moved the pillows and throw on the couch, picked up the curtain to look underneath it, looked under the couch, moved over the ottoman.
This went on for about 5 minutes.
And then she went and grabbed it from the dining room table, where she knew it was all along.
There's a lesson somewhere in there, I think.

Hechosedrugs,
I can quickly think of three:
1) Trust in what you know, not in what you are told.
2) Males involved in home improvement projects are not good sources of information, especially short term memory issues - their brain is on the project, not on where they set things down.
3) It was nice that your mom humored him for a while, but she could have stopped sooner. But, on the other hand, that is part of the reason they are still married!
Keep coming back,
Jim

Oh, I like that story and I agree with Jim's lessons.
I'd like to add lessons #4 and #5...
4. When you're right, you're right and yelling "I told you so" negates the satisfaction in just knowing that you are right.
5. Never, but never, try to "help" a man doing a handyman project. Go shopping or get your hair done....it ends better that way.
I'm sure there are more lessons, but those two came to mind.
