Checkin In

So I am at 160 days and still truckin. Moods are all over the place and I may have bitten off more than I can chew - early sobriety, new job and buying a new house all in six months' time - whew! Everything feels like it's in high def and it is tough to detach.

That new job requires I spend anywhere from two to two and a half hours in a daily commute (to and from) and this leads to lots of HALT triggers - may rethink this employer after we close on the house. Im not working out like I should be or eating very well - no bueno but however shaky or tired I feel, drinking is off the table.

I am just trying to be a pleasant, consistent person with my family and employer - I cringe to recall all my snappy hungover ways - ouch.

Next month I will be in Las Vegas for a work thing and while there I will quietly (and with you guys!) celebrate six months. It is bittersweet - the last time I was in Vegas in 2014 I blacked out on the last night and woke up in my hotel room, still in my cocktail dress with my high heels neatly placed on the end table with absolutely no recollection of how I got there. Terrifying!!! This trip will be sober, solid and I am looking forward to being sharp.

Been there. Done that.

Big Kudo to you. Vegas has some awfully nice spas to celebrate six months.

Yup - thanks guys!! I come here just about every single day - first thing in the AM while I have a coffee to get my head right for the day, and then circle back in the evening. It is a huuuuge part of my plan.

Nice job. 160 is a long time for a drunk to be sober. It is all mental now.

I'm sober now a good while too and I am checking myself constantly when thinking of pushing the line everywhere. I am still getting used to being a proud tea totaller.

I love Vegas. Spa's are bueno. Food is the best... esp. Sober. PH Gorda Ramsey Burger is very tasty. When I am really Hungary there is a great Brazillian Steak House.

Check Groupon for food and show deals.

Congrats!
I've done Vegas sober and find it fairly easy....there are so many distractions, who needs to drink?!
I'm at 4 months so thanks for the inspiration to get to 6

Thanks!! I must admit it is a relief to not deal with "eh gotta stop and pick up wine even though I still bad from last night" freaking ball and chain. Very grateful!
