I posted about two months ago that a woman I knew had died while in detox from alcoholism. This week a different lady I know was found dead among her four unfed dogs after a "last hurrah" binge. This woman was young and very athletic and was just telling me how annoyed she was by a man in the program that kept telling her she was going to die if she didn't get a grip on this disease. She was basically saying"pffft, I'm not going to die!"

Just wanted to really drive home to the chronic relapser that this disease is real. It is progressive, chronic and fatal. Please don't end up another statistic.

Sorry for your loss, omg,do you know how many times I've said"pfft,I'm not gonna die?" Even while drinking on antabuse,throwing up blood, driving, etc,nobody knows if that last binge will in fact be their last,very sad
