Hello everyone
After months of reading this site, and despite many efforts to stop drinking, some for lengthy periods and some not, thought actually signing up and posting might help.
I think this site is remarkable and it's been of great help to me the last couple of years despite my lurking rather than posting.
I want my life to improve, I need my life to improve and I know it can only do so without alcohol. Anyway, don't want my first post to be a 'this is me, I'm messed up' kind of message so I'll just say thanks to all who run and post on this site and that I look forward to trying to contribute.

It helped me immensely when I joined here. I had felt all alone until I found so many who were just like me. No one else in my life had a problem controlling their drinking. You can get free of it - we'll help.

Think I'm going to attend my first meeting this week, which will be a massive deal for me.
