Weird... im craving tonight!

Havent had a craving for a drink for a while!

Kids are off school and Ive had an issue with my son today, stress levels rose, its sorted now but I'm pretty sure this has triggered a physical craving.

So, time to put my plan in action and come on here and let it out. Im distracting myself by playing games on the ipad and I have a huge pack of harbio to munch on, Ive eaten so much rubbish today but I figure as long as it keeps me sober I can allow myself this.

Ive just done 5 AA meetings in the last five days too, wish i'd gone to the one tonight now! Just goes to show, you cant predict when a craving will strike eh?

So here I am surfing the wave.... This too shall pass!

I am so glad you chose to come here, blueberry2015. The urges go away as quickly as they come on. Grit your teeth and ride it out. It will pass.

Stay strong. We've got your back!

Hey blueberry, I hope you're copying ok. Please keep posting ok. When I joined you were the first one to 'talk' to me. Have a good cuppa and as recommend 'phone a friend'. Blueberry, sending you lots of hugs... you can do this!!!

I will not drink with you tonight!

No, the cravings can pop up out of nowhere, so good on you for being prepared. I found that each time I got through one, it became easier.

Hi Blueberry , Its bewildering how these cravings can come on . You sound very strong and I'm sure you will get through this .
I haven't had strong cravings this time round but have had some fleeting thoughts especially after a job well done , wheres my reward type feeling but it passed quickly . Was driving through George Street in Edinburgh to work tonight to start my nightshift and the pubs/café outside areas were busy with wine and lager drinkers and I admit it jarred my AV for 20 seconds but I don't forget how I was 3 weeks ago and hope I never do .

Im listening to the big book audios from AA website last night and tonight and this is helping too .

Best wishes

Oh I'm 100 percent born and bred in bonnie Scotland

That's great.

I know I'm wired to crave when something unexpected hits. The more times I resist, the stronger I get.

Good on ya!

Hey Thomas

I love bonnie Scotland. Edinburgh is one of my favorite places in the world! Just thought I'd throw that in there! I'm glad you're doing well!

Getting some exercise or talking to another alcoholic helps me. Reading the big book seems to keep me out of my head because I'm not allowed to be there without adult supervision

I second that on Edinburgh - truly a magical place!

Blueberry you are going to wake up so happy you "urge surfed" through the evening and didn't cave! Good for you
