Librium & side effects
Librium & side effects
While Librium is helping considerably with anxiety and other yucky detox stuff - I seem to be experiencing a lot of annoying side effects. Most of all, leg and arm discomfort, insomnia, and the weirdest one of all - sore throat/cough. Anyone else ever experience this? Is it something to worry about?
BirdsAteMyFace, I'm sorry you're having these side effects. I have no experience with Librium , but suggest you call your Doctor with your concerns.
He may change your medication or at least share his medical expertise regarding this drug.
I hope you feel better.

I think it's more the detox than the librium. I know know my first few days through detox I cough often. Ativan worked better for me. Librium is great in it's own right, but it is very weak. I assume your doctor put you on it to no formal a habit. I would however call you doctor as well if you're still feeling bad. Do you smoke? I seem to chain smoke while in detox. Good luck to you!

I get those side effects just from the detox, not the drug. I've detoxed both with meds and without (horrid by the way). For me librium is one of the better ones to take. Ativan makes me a vegetable....but frankly that 's ok in the first few days.
Maybe talk to your dr. about changing meds?

Thanks guys. I think I maybe just caught a little bug in the ER or something, because today I feel like I have a really bad head cold. All of the other other symptoms I think are normal.
This is why WebMD at 12am is probably not a good idea for me at this point.

Hi Birds, I have detoxed with Librium many times and have not had any side-effects other than relief. You might have just caught a bug....our defenses are low during and just after detox. Drink plenty of fluids and try to eat even if you don't feel hungry. Best Wishes
