Feel different today/this time

Today after my last hangover, I feel different this time, perhaps in a closer relationship with God. In the past I prayed for relief, but expected God to "magically" remove my urge to drink. Now I know that I have to put forth effort and work for my sobriety. Today, I got more out of my AA meeting than ever before and feel my last hangover has passed.
Just for today, I want sobriety more than I want to drink. One hour at a time! Thanks!

That's all you can do, buddy. One day, one minute at a time. Trust your higher power, whatever/whoever that may be. We can pray for relief but we also have to do our part. God will honor your efforts. Hang in there and know you can do this!

Hopefully this is your last day one! Good job and keep it up. Without God I couldn't have done it. Prayer and gratitude every single day.

Glad you are back and starting again! I felt different this time as well, and have been sober since January 1st. Least always says "You need to want to be sober more than you want to drink." This time I have really wanted sobriety and have stuck with my plan.

What supports do you have in place?
