Anxiety in early recovery
Anxiety in early recovery
Hi all, day 57. Had some setbacks at work the last couple of weeks. Mostly related to cloudy thinking. My manager assures me all is fine. However, I feel I have this constant anxiety going on all the time now. Nothing as extreme as a panic attack. But more of just a consistent uncomfortable nervous feeling. If I look at it logically, everything is going pretty fine in my life right now. I know I shouldn't feel this way. Also, I was never an every day drinker, nor did I use alcohol for stress relief. I was a binger a few times per week. I've been reading about PAWS. I'm just wondering any feedback if this anxiety is very common and how long it may last, and any suggestions on how to relieve it. - Thanks!
Extremely common to have anxiety. I pretty much had every PAWS symptom you could think of back in 2014; this time mainly anxiety.
Last time my anxiety peaked around 60 days then started getting much better.
Hang in there; things will improve!

Congrats on day 57 anxiety is pretty common I sought help through my Dr & local hospital with group therapy seeing a alcohol outreach team and going to AA meetings I used to turn up super early as just being near a AA room helped to reduce my anxiety
