Decided not to count days (my choice) been a good week or so sleeping very well and feeling good however put on about 4 lbs funny huh cut out all those calories and put on weight check in here every day I am keeping myself very humble and thankfull for each day found a poem online called Desitarata and reflect a lot on it. My granddaughter is coming over for a sleepover tonight nice doing well but one day at a time thank you all ....

As for the weight, I've read that it takes a while for our bodies to adjust to not processing alcohol calories first, so it's not uncommon. I decided I wouldn't even weigh myself for the first month just in case the stupid thing tried to rain on my sober parade.

This is great news and I'm not surprised you're feeling better. It's almost as if we're in denial about how TOXIC booze is, and then once we remove it for a few days, we feel much better. Eureka! Another breakthrough in addiction research! LOL!

I love that poem. Desiderata. My mom had it framed and hanging on the wall in our kitchen. As a child I remember reading it over and over as I ate my breakfast cereal. That was 40 years ago.
