New & Finally Ready
Hi y'all. Just a short intro. I have been a heavy drinker since I turned 21 (10 years), and have played with the idea that I have a "problem," but woke up today, hungover, and ready to finally admit it. I went to an AA mtg this morning, and felt like I was exactly where I should be. I feel a relief today.
I realize sobriety will be hard at first. I've done it before when pregnant, and a few other times...But every time I go back harder than before.
I drink to get s-faced every time. I drink alone. I drink for reasons and for no reason.
I've begun having more health issues, and I'm 40 lbs overweight.
I'm tired of the merry go round that I couldn't jump off.
I.am tired of feeling ashamed, sick, confused, and regretful.
I am So happy to see this group & read your stories. It's so comforting to not be alone.

Welcome to SR, KM! Congrats on your decision and the steps you've taken already. You will find a lot of people here who understand and lots of support and information. Hope you can stick around!
