Hello,
I'm kind of new here...I was here a couple of years ago and managed to stay sober 9 weeks. It's taken that long to finally get fed up with the weekend binges, waking up Monday feeling guilty and hungover, the money being spent, etc... I am here today to keep myself accountable b/c it is Friday which is a huge trigger for me. My husband is a functioning alcoholic, so, we would sit outside and drink together...He is not very supportive of my sobriety as he misses his "drinking buddy". Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself!!

Hi I am on 5th day, situation very like yours, going to meetings now and OH not happy, TOUGH! If he would rather have me die of liver disease just to keep him company boozing then I would rather be on my own. Took me a long time to realize I needed to save myself, no one else will. All the best.

I have to agree, it will be very tough for you to stay sober if your husband is an alcoholic who considers you his drinking buddy. I wish you good luck and I hope you can stay strong.

Day 8 here. With a bf that has no plans on stopping. I'm just over my withdrawals (hopefully) and he just doesn't get it. I feel you. And welcome.
