One Year Sober

The last time I drank was December 30, 2014. Made it through an entire year sober for the first time since I started drinking as a teenager. I'm 50+ years old now.

I am still healing physically (brain), mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It is only with long-term sobriety that I realize how much damage I was doing to myself in all those categories. I feel like I am learning things I should have learned years ago. Oh well, better late than never.

I'm looking forward to what Year 2 of sobriety has in store.

Fantastic! SO pleased for you. I am 50 in 2016 and 50 + days sober so far. I hope to be writing a similar post to your own next Xmas. You are an inspiration!

You've done fantastic and we're not old yet, hopefully lots of years to learn and live differently.

Wow, this is so inspirational to me! I'm getting some medical help to prepare to quit, and my quit date will be January 11.

If you got to a year, maybe so can I!
