Alton Towers

Taking my family to Alton Towers for a couple of days. Just checking in now...

Last time we came we had a great time but I got blind drunk in the night.

Coming up to two weeks here and I can't afford to relapse. I can feel the urges already though!

I suppose I just need a bit of support!

I would say that Alton Towers rides would be better sober than hungover!

Enjoy the alcohol free fun : ))))

I never heard of Alton Towers, so I looked it up...It's an amusement park? If it's what I saw, then there should be plenty of things to keep you occupied and frankly you'll have a lot more fun in these activities sober. It looks like a great time!

There's support here always Gerd.

Try 'playing the tape through'...remember what happened last time after your day out...it needn't end that way

Alton Towers is ace, who needs booze when you've got the rides?!

Maybe be the chief carer of the kids while you're away, and let them stay up late, since it's a little holiday? they won't give you much chance to drink, and you'll be having so much fun you won't want to

Thanks guys. Just sitting down to dinner here watching everyone drinking is tough.

I'm telling myself it's my AV going mad and not me...

Doesn't help that the kids are driving me up the wall haha.

Once I've had something to eat I should be ok I think

I think I'm over the worst of my urges now. 3 pints of Diet Coke and I'm doing the Monster Mash on stage.

I tell you though I was a hair's breadth away from ordering a Stella twice before. It was the thought of letting you lot down, as well as my family, that kept me on the straight and narrow.

Hope you're all doing well this Friday night X x

My partner knows I'm having done 'time off the ale' she doesn't know I quit yet. I'll tell her after a couple of months when she knows it's for real. Longest I've gone is 5 weeks in twenty years before now
