Newcomer to Alcoholism
Hi,
I have openly admitted (today) that I have a problem with alcohol and really need someone to talk to and support me during these early stages.
I don't drink everyday but I am a binge drinker and mega surprised that something seriously bad has not happened to me.
I look forward to hopefully hearing from some of you...
Emma

welcome, Emma....
Congratulations on taking that difficult first step of owning up to the problem.
This is a fantastic place to find insight, support, experience and guidance.
Many of us have been right where you are.... sobriety offers a new way to live and a chance to be free of the destructive cycles - and the possibility of something terrible finally happening.

Welcome to SR, Emma!
I was a binge drinker too, and am also surprised nothing really bad had happened to me yet this time around. But I had no doubt in my mind that it was getting very close.

Congrats - you got it! Rule number one. For an alcoholic , a life with alcohol is unmanageable. Why? We can't control how much we drink like normal people do and it will destroy us physically and spiritually. Its the way it is and the way we are. Accept it and be happy.
Same here. Don't drink every day but binge to blackout when I do.
Get involved on here and you learn so much it's ridiculous. It's only about my third day and I feel like a new man!
Good luck x
