Sponsor crisis!
So my sponsor, whom I love and planned to have as a sponsor forever, is in a bad situation. She's 85 and married. Her husband suddenly has a problem with her going to meetings, even if one of us drive her. He's made actual threats so now she's afraid to leave the house. I'm afraid to even call her because I don't want him to get mad at her for having people call.
Perhaps read Bill's pamphlet, Emotional Sobriety where he talks about the importance of breaking dependencies on people and even AA. Kind of transitioning from child to parent. Sponsors are human, they have feet of clay and they are not always going to be there. Like mine, they may even die.
On page 14/15 of the Big Book, Ebby warns Bill that there will be low spots ahead and tells him what he must do to survive. It seems to hinge around work and self sacrifice for others rather than dependence on them.

.....accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Stay available for your sponsor, pray for her and find another to work with.
No reason to drink!!
Nothing is forever 999
