Sweet tooth!
Sweet tooth!
Holy moly I've developed the biggest sweet tooth since I've quit drinking! What is the deal? I've never been much of a sugar person but now my nightly ritual consists of a run to the corner mart for a Hershey's bar and a bag of Skittles. Sure beats two bottles of wine though! Our bodies are pretty amusing if you ask me.

I find that a soda or candy when I'm having a craving does help.

I've been on a choclate kick, last night I had dark chock w sea salt caramel.......and I was never a person to buy a candy bar. I find nothing wrong w spoiling yourself with in reason. A Hershey bar and a bag of skittles is not gonna hurt you.....alcohol will. I call it harm reduction.

OMG, I ate so much chocolate my first six months. Luckily I was warned by others in AA that our bodies do have a "sugar hole" when we stop drinking, and the body keeps trying to fill that.
I finally tapered off chocolate last month. I'm working off some weight gain, but that's ok -- at least I stayed sober.
A good substitute I've found is sugar-free mints, which work fine for me now. But it wouldn't have been enough in the beginning.
