Good news this morning
......... I hopped on the scale today and, after a few seconds of the little LED screen cycling through it's little animation, a number was displayed. I looked down and was pleasantly surprised to learn I have lost somewhere around 35 pounds since this same time last year!! This was wearing nothing but my pants, first thing in the morning with an empty stomach.
This is good news for you new people because - I am a very sedentary person due to tight muscles and weak quads - pretty much the only thing that changed from last year to this year is I stopped drinking. I quit all soda pop starting on January 01, 2015, so I'm sure that played a role as well, but I'm guessing most of the good news can be attributed to the simple removal of booze from my diet.
I guess it makes sense that the weight mysteriously came off all on it's own, I always loved chugging big 40 oz malt liquor ice-cold and straight out of the bottle. In hindsight, those things are just loaded with calories...... so it's no surprise I ballooned up over the course of several years.
In terms of weight, i am now back to square one, or back to +/- the same weight I was in early 2010. It feels sooooooooo good to be back to a "base-line", for a while there I was going in the wrong direction just getting heavier and heavier.
I'm 418 days sober, or somewhere thereabout. Things do change for the better, sometimes - like me - you don't even notice because it was all so subtle.
Judging by what I see in the mirror I don't "look" very much different, but numbers do not lie. My pants have been "sliding" off a lot lately, so i suppose that was another indication.
Anyways I just wanted to share this good news, here's to the next 35 pounds coming off
