Talking Starting this long hard road....

I accideny stumbled onto this page googling heart palpitations from hydro
withdrawl and I'm so glad I did...I'm 2 days in and boy is it hard
My old friends are constantly offering them to me and they
are hard to resist....I decided to quit on my own because of racing
heart and palpitations....wish me luck....

Miscali - good luck! There is a lot of support here. I am currently looking to switch from H to subs so I'm going to be on the withdrawal train too. Be sure you are drinking enough water. I know it sounds simple, but I have dealt with palpitations for a while. Coffee and cigs don't help either. However, I found that even with a lot of coffee and cigs if I drank a ton of water during the day that it would dramatically reduce their frequency.

Miscali - I ODd on coke when I was in my early 20s, and even since then I have had palpitations. It freaked me out so much that I eventually went to a heart clinic to get a full workup. They said that the palpitations I was having were benign, which was a huge relief for me. It wasn't really until I had that news that I was able to relax about it.

I am hoping that you are on day 3 now. If so, congrats on that. The first 3 days were always the hardest for me. It wasn't like I woke up to sunshine and rainbows on day 4, but things at least starting getting better.

Days 3 and 4 were always the hardest for me too. Didnt really seem to get substantially better until end of 2nd week. Just went cold turkey from abusing opiates pretty hard for 4 years. I am on day 57 now and while I am not 100% - I can go out to dinner and go to work without feeling like its the hardest thing ever. I wish you tons of luck - it can be done! This is my second attempt to stop and it really is the best thingI did. The first time I failed because I started taking kolonopin instead of opiates for the wd - stupid mistake. Just traded one for another. Relapsed for about two months and than went cold turkey. Pop in and let us know how youre doing. SR really helps.
